Extension of Temporary Road Closure - R938 Castleblayney to Facilitate Road Improvement Works

Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross and Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date:    Friday 27^th September to Sunday 20^th Oct 2024.

Time:    24 hours

To Facilitate:     Road Improvement Works

Road Closed: 

R938 from the junction with the R181 (Main St) to the junction with the N53 Dundalk Road

Diversion Routes: 

Traffic on Main Street will be diverted along the R181 onto the N2, then be diverted southeast to the junction with the N53 (Tullyvin Roundabout)

Northbound traffic on the N2 will use the same diversion as above in reverse.

Traffic on the N53 travelling towards Castleblayney will be diverted left onto the L4300 to the N2, then diverted right onto the N2 and continue to the junction with the N53 (Tullyvin Roundabout).

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)
