Temporary Closing of Road

Monaghan County Council will close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Dates and Times: Between Thursday 21^st May 2026 and Friday 26th June 2026.

                                The Road may be closed for a maximum of 2 weeks within the Closure Period.

To Facilitate: Road Improvement Works

Roads Closed: L-7801 & L-8111 in the townland of Knockavolis, Co.Monaghan for a total distance of 3.9km between Tattygare- 3 roads and Aughnafarcon National School.

Diversion Route:

Traffic travelling South-bound towards Aughnafarcon will be directed to turn right onto the LS-7810 for approx. 1.8km, continue straight through crossroads onto the LS-8121 and travel for 1.4km, turn left onto the LS-8120 and travel for approx. 1.4km, turn left onto LP-4120 and travel for approx. 750metres, turn left onto LP-4111 and travel for approx. 1km before reaching Aughnafarcon.

Traffic travelling North-Bound from Aughnafarcon towards Castleblayney will be directed to follow the LP-4110 East-Bound for 3.1km towards the N2, turn left on the N2 and travel for approx. 4.6km before reaching the Castleblayney roundabout, take the 3^rd exit off roundabout and travel into Castleblayney.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
