Temporary Road Closure - LP1411

Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date:    Between Wednesday 9^th July 2025 at 6pm and Friday 11^th July 2025 at 6pm

To Facilitate:     Road Improvement Works

Road Closed: 

LP1411 Pound Hill from its junction with the R987 at McCarrons  to the Ard Gleann Junction.

Diversion Routes: 

Southbound  traffic will be directed to continue straight and take the first left down the Mall road. At the end of the Mall road traffic will be directed to turn left onto the R162 Glen road and then take the first left onto Glenview Drive. At the junction turn right and then left onto Fairview drive as far as St Macartan Terrace.

Northbound traffic will be directed to travel along Fairview Drive, then turn right onto Glenview Drive. At the junction turn right onto the R162 Glen Road and drive as far as the traffic lights. At the traffic lights turn right for N2 Dublin. At the next roundabout take the third exit.  

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Close of Business Wednesday 2^nd July 2025. Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.
